Hyperlinks are not working in Outlook

10.01.2013

I noticed following problem – Hyperlinks are not working in Outlook (Office 2013)

Error Messages:

This usually happens when there is no default Internet browser (properly) registered in Windows. It often happens after uninstalling the Google Chrome browser but there are also other instances for which this can happen.

More info can be found here – http://www.msoutlook.info/question/242

The solution is quite simple by MS Fix-it   – http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310049/en-us

  1. Hi Filip, thanks for nice article. It helped me, but I had to do additional steps: (Windows 8, default UAC settings , Outlook 2013)
    1. Reset Internet Explorer worked, but first I had to run IE as administrator (hold CTRL key, right click on its icon and select “Run as administrator”
    2. After IE reset also Outlook needs to be restarted. Would it be please possible to update article?

    Thanks Zbycha
